SORRY, 2008 IS CANCELLED.

Thanks to all who participated in the first annual Golden City Criterium (2007).  It was a huge success.  

Yreka is an old gold mining and lumber town near the California/Oregon border.   We are located on Interstate 5, 50 minutes south of Medford, OR and 90 minutes north of Redding, CA.

The race directors are cyclists with many years of road racing experience.  Our goal is for this race to grow into a major event for west coast cycling.

  • COURSE:  A challenging 0.7 mile "L" shaped loop in the heart of the old town of Yreka.  Pavement is good with 25 feet of elevation gain per lap and a wide long finishing street.

 

  • PRIZES/PRIMES:  Prize values consist of cash and merchandise donated by our generous sponsors. CASH PRIMES THAT PAY 3 DEEP FOR ALL CATS!!!.  Minimum of $2000 in cash and prizes.  WE ALREADY HAVE MORE CASH THAN LAST YEAR!!!

 

  • RULES:  All OBRA (Oregon Bike Racing Association) rules will be in effect.  Free lap rule will apply.  No Neutral wheel support.  Lapped riders will be pulled.  Please be courteous and mindful of the surrounding neighborhoods.  Please do not warm up on the course.

REGISTRATION: Entry fee is $20 for all OBRA categories, $10 to race a second category, no late fee. OBRA one day licenses will be available for $5. Citizens race is $5, enter on race day. Make checks payable to : Golden City Criterium, print and complete the OBRA waiver and mail to 816 Park Place, Yreka, CA 96097. Contact Bryan Foster @ (530) 841-1091 with any questions.
